KHF Support’s Ricky Proehl’s POWER of Play Foundation

"Having the opportunity to attend summer camp is very rewarding for these children. The Kevin Harvick Foundation’s donation will fund eight nine-week scholarships to the P.O.W.E.R. of Play Foundation’s Summer Smiles! program, a charitable effort that provides organized summer care at Proehlific Park in Greensboro, N.C., for children in foster care. Children ages five through 13 enjoy activities consisting of various themes each of the nine weeks throughout the summer, affording them opportunities to play and engage in programs designed to enhance their skills and self-confidence. Furthermore, scholarship recipients also participate in weekly workshops focused on topics such as strong study habits, bullying prevention, time management and nutrition.

Kelly and Ricky Proehl founded the Ricky Proehl Foundation in 1995. Over 10 years the Foundation raised over 1.5 million dollars in support of local North Carolina children’s charities. In 2008 the Ricky Proehl Foundation became the Ricky Proehl P.O.W.E.R. of Play Foundation to serve at risk children and teenagers while continuing to support and partner with North Carolina children’s charities.
